What we keep, and what we don’t

Your dog profile stays in your browser

The quick dog profile (name, weight, measurements and how many dogs) is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key boop.dog. It is never sent to us. The listing filter and the carrier checker run in your browser too. To delete it, choose “Forget this dog” or clear this site’s data in your browser.

Searching

When you type a town into the search box, the letters are sent to our server to find matching towns. We don’t tie searches to you.

The owner contact flow

Each listing has an “Are you the owner or manager?” button. Pressing it asks us to email a one-time link to the address we already hold for that property, taken from the property’s own website or public place data. We never send it to an address typed by a visitor, and the page shows the same message whatever happens, so it reveals nothing about what we hold.

• We keep a record of every email we send (address, subject, message and time) and of replies to hello@booptravel.com, so we can honour opt-outs and removal requests.
• A property that replies “no thanks” is not emailed again.
• When a property confirms its listing, we store the details it sends and, if given, the contact’s name and role. The role may appear as the note on confirmed values; the name is not published.

Server logs

Like any website, our servers record basic request logs: IP address, time, the page requested and your browser’s user agent. We use them to keep the site running and to stop abuse, such as limiting how often the owner button can be pressed. Logs rotate out automatically after a short time and are not used for advertising or profiling.

Cookies

We don’t set tracking cookies. Fonts are served from our own domain.
