BoopTravelBot

BoopTravelBot is the web reader behind BoopTravel. It reads what hotels publish about pets, slowly and politely.

How to recognise it

It identifies itself with this user agent:

BoopTravelBot/1.0 (+https://booptravel.com/bot)

What it does

  • Reads a property’s homepage and up to four pages about pets or policies.
  • Keeps only the paragraphs about pets, to show pet fees, limits and rules with a link back to your page.
  • Comes back about once a week to see whether the page has changed.
  • Doesn’t log in, submit forms or load ads.

How it behaves

  • Obeys robots.txt. It follows rules for BoopTravelBot if you set them, and your * rules otherwise.
  • 1 request per second per site, at most.

How to opt out

Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: BoopTravelBot
Disallow: /

Or email hello@booptravel.com with your website address and we’ll stop reading it. If you run a listed property, you can also ask us to remove the listing.
